The “Triads” is a series of paintings by artist Jordan Betten. The paintings are groups of people painted in an angular and cubist style inspired by the collective culture of gamblers, pools sharks and underworld characters. The groups of people are connected with straight lines and hard edges of the triangles. Inspired by stories of the Triad secret society of China and their involvement in gambling and organized crime. The Triads were painted in Wynwood, Miami inspired by such artists as Picasso, Kandinsky, and Leger.
